### Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, on his visit to Japan this week, will attend the FINEST startup event in Tokyo on 6 March, where aspiring Japanese startups can pitch their ideas to arguably one of the most startup-friendly presidents in the world.

FINEST stands for Estonian and Finnish startup scenes and is commonly organised by Enterprise Estonia and [Latitude59](http://latitude59.ee/)
, an annual Estonian startup conference, as well as Startup Sauna, a Finnish startup accelerator, and SLUSH, one of the biggest startup conferences in the Nordic countries.

While the Japanese startups can participate in the [pitching contest](http://pitchtothepresident.com/)
, they’ll also have the opportunity to gain an insight into what is happening in Estonia’s startup scene.
