### One of the largest solar parks in the Baltics, located in Kirikmäe in Pärnu County, will soon be complemented by a 55 MW battery storage system with a capacity of 250 MWh; as a result, Estonia’s highest-capacity hybrid plant, with a total capacity of 77.5 MW, will become operational.

The new battery park will be built by WiSo Engineering, an Estonian company, near the existing Kirikmäe solar park and integrated with the production unit as a single whole.

According to the company, this hybrid solution will make it possible to store the electricity generated by the solar park and supply it to the market as required by the electricity system and the electricity market.

The plant is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026, after which it will begin operating immediately across various energy markets.

Once completed, the hybrid system will enable solar energy to be stored and used to provide important grid stability services, including arbitrage and participation in various frequency markets.

The Kirikmäe solar park in western Estonia covers 110 hectares (272 acres) and has a generating capacity of 77.53 megawatts. It is expected to generate enough electricity to [supply 35,000 homes annually](https://estonianworld.com/technology/estonias-solar-leap-largest-solar-park-in-the-baltics-opens-in-parnu-county/)
