### The Estonian smart street light company, Cityntel, is to cooperate with the Malaysian cities of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, testing street lighting lamps and administration systems that use LED technology.

In the first stage, [Cityntel](http://www.cityntel.com/)
will deliver, installing a total of 200 smart street lighting fittings, connected to a control system that can be monitored in real time. The luminaries react to traffic and the amount of natural light, prolong the working life of LED illuminators and prevent the occurrence of risks in the system, the company said in a statement.

“Using a smart street lighting system together with energy saving LED lighting fittings, it is possible to save up to 85 per cent on the energy cost,” Alar Võrk, the CEO of Cityntel, said. “The immediate detection of breakdowns and the longer working life of the illuminators result in savings on maintenance costs.”

Currently, Cityntel’s solutions have been installed in Tartu and the Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol. The company also has started its first foreign projects in Germany, Finland and Denmark.
