### One of the biggest clean technology (cleantech) programmes in Europe, ClimateLaunchpad, has selected 11 Estonian startups for a three-month mentorship programme in order to be prepared for the ClimateLaunchpad European finals.

The chosen startups – SolWay, Gleather, ALGACAP, Winsect, BÖX, WildAr, BugOil, HeatSmartel, Get it Clean, and Polycycle – will get the chance to learn from top-notch mentors and the opportunity to test their idea and business model.

Marit Sall, the programme manager of ClimateLaunchpad Estonia, said there were 29 applications for the programme, which she considers a very good result for Estonia. “Based on last year’s number of applications we thought that all of our cleantech startups have already participated in the programme, but this year I was really surprised that there [were] still new promising ideas out there.”

Madis Tilga from the Nordic Council of Ministers said it was noticeable that big global trends were leading the way in cleantech. “For me, the top keywords among the applications were food, energy, environment and climate change impacts. I was impressed with insect-based food production, smart agriculture and clean food ideas. I’m really excited to see the European final of ClimateLaunchpad.”

The members of the jury included representatives from the Estonian companies Tallink, Hedman Partners, Marble Invest, and the ministry of the environment.

ClimateLaunchpad is one of the largest cleantech business idea competitions in the world. Its mission is to unlock Europe’s cleantech potential that addresses climate change.
