# TransferWise integrates its money transfer system with Facebook Messenger

### The Estonian-founded money transfer startup, TransferWise, has integrated its system with Facebook Messenger, a popular chatting application.

This enables TransferWise customers to send money and set up rate alerts without leaving the Messenger application. The TransferWise Bot, as the Messenger add-on is called, guides clients through the transfers and it can be used to set up transfers from the US, the UK, Canada, Australia or continental Europe.

For clients who make regular payments between two currencies, the bot will send alerts to stay up to date with the daily currency rates.

TransferWise was founded in 2011 by two Estonians, Kristo Käärmann and Taavet Hinrikus. Over £800 million passes through TransferWise every month, and the money transferring system is also used by businesses and commercial banks. The company is headquartered in London and has eight offices around the world, employing 600 people.
