The Estonishing Evenings event series, supported by Estonian World, continues in Tallinn, this time taking a closer look at the image and perception of Estonia, both at home and abroad.
Organised in partnership with Estonian World and the Telliskivi Creative City, the Estonishing Evenings series runs English-speaking events that host different speakers expressing their viewpoints and experiences on hot topics and matters concerning both the locals and non-natives living in Estonia.
At the September event, on Monday, 23 September, Estonishing Evenings is taking a closer look at the image and perception of Estonia, both at home and abroad. “We will discuss how the image of Estonia as a ‘wunderkind’ in the world has actually influenced the country and how much of this perception is really true,” the organisers said.
The event will be opened by Silver Tambur, the editor-in-chief of Estonian World, who will give an overview of the developments, milestones and perceptions of Estonia throughout the years.
It will be followed by a panel discussion and the speakers include Sten Tamkivi, Maris Hellrand, Dario Cavegn and Katharina Sowa.
Tamkivi is a technology entrepreneur, who has worked as a general manager of Skype and is currently the chief product officer at Topia and president of the Estonian Startup Leaders Club. Hellrand is a journalist, producer and media consultant and a former international communications adviser at the Estonian EU presidency (2017).
Cavegn is a former editor of ERR News, copywriter and a marketing strategist. Sowa has worked for TransferWise and the Estonian presidency of the Council of the EU in 2017. Currently she is a creative writer and translator at Pipedrive and a freelance writer at her own company.
The event, taking place at the cosy Erinevate Tubade Klubi (the Club of Different Rooms) at the Telliskivi Creative City in Tallinn, at 7:00 PM on 23 September, will be moderated by Silver Tambur.
