Sportlyzer, a Tartu-based sports software startup, has been named the world’s best sports technology for managers and coaches at the 2016 Sports Technology Awards ceremony in London on 15 April.
Sportlyzer was selected out of eight finalists in this category.
The Estonian startup stood out from the competitors by being the only company among the finalists that solely focuses on youth and amateur sport. Some of the most prestigious winners in other categories were NBA, BBC Get Inspired, Fox Sports, SAP and WTA.
“Youth sports is the basis of everything in sports. This is where the foundation of a healthy society gets created and where you pave the way to successful professional sports. Sportlyzer helps manage sports clubs’ paperwork by bringing athletes’ data, training plans and group management together into one place. This way coach can focus on creating engaging workouts, that will help kids and youth enjoy being active,” the CEO and founder of Sportlyzer, Tõnis Saag, said.
Sportlyzer is a team management software for youth and amateur sports coaches and club managers. It helps take care of everyday administrative tasks and lets coaches focus on better training quality. More than 15,000 clubs all over the world use the company’s software, the company said.
