Estonian mobile payments solution provider Fortumo enters the Singapore market

The Estonian mobile payments company, Fortumo, has announced direct carrier billing with SingTel, the leading mobile operator in Singapore, with presence in 26 other countries, including Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, the Philippines and Thailand.

Fortumo helps web/mobile developers collect payments through mobile carrier billing. The one-click in-app payment solution doesn’t require users to do anything or wait for text messages to complete the payment process. It supports desktop applications, web services and HTML5, Android, Windows Phone and Windows 8 apps.

In addition to Singapore, Fortumo already has a strong presence in the region, powering payments in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Last year, it also launched in India, starting the direct carrier billing with four of the largest mobile operators in the country – Vodafone, Airtel, Idea and Tata Domoco.

It has previously also set up an office in Beijing and formed direct carrier billing partnerships with China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom.

Founded in Tartu, Estonia, in 2007, Fortumo partners with 300 telecom operators in 80 countries.
