19 new designs created at first web design hackathon in the Baltics

Estonian startup YourDesignWorks held a Garage48 hackathon-inspired web design workshop from 9-11 January for non-designers in Tallinn where over 40 people created 19 new web designs.

The event, held at the Pipedrive office, covered the design process from fundamental design thinking to executing a visually attractive solution in 48 hours. The participants learned how to profile target customers, create first wireframes, develop a brand and make all layouts pixel perfect under the guidance of professional designers. Over 40 people took part and created 19 new projects.

“A lot of people are interested in design but don’t know how or where to start. We wanted to give them an introduction to web design in the simplest way possible,” Liis Peetermann from YourDesignWorks, and an organiser of the event, said. “There are a lot of talented designers in the world, some just don’t know it yet.”

“All web sites received a professional look in just 48 hours. Considering that most of the participants had no previous design experience, that’s amazing. We’ll be definitely doing it again.”
