Estonian Enefit Technology Park is to host a high-performance computing centre that the company says is the largest in Northern Europe.
Burfa Tech, an IT company operating in Estonia mainly in the field of equipment for cryptocurrency mining, will develop the largest high-performance computing centre in Northern Europe, the company said in a statement.
“The facility will have the capacity of 4MW and will be located at the Enefit Technology Park in Narva,” the company said.
Vitali Pavlov, the chief product officer at Burfa Tech, said this would be a new line of business for the company that is aimed at providing various cloud services.
The computing centre will provide customers with cloud computing, graphical rendering, artificial intelligence and machine learning services, the statement added.
Companies of the Burfa Group have previously managed similar computing centres in China and Iceland as test projects, but the company is currently planning to consolidate most of its capacities in Narva.
Burfa Tech provides cloud and IT development services by deploying blockchain technologies. In addition, the company is building data processing and storage centres, involving leading staff of Estonian research institutions.
