Estonian half-distance Ironman declared as the best in the series

The half-distance Ironman triathlon held in Otepää, Estonia, has been declared one of the best in the series in 2017, together with the event held in Sydney.

The Ironman events in Otepää and Sydney were chosen as the best from 102 half-distance triathlons in the Ironman series all over the world. A half-distance Ironman is 70.3 miles (113 km) long altogether.

The participants of the events were asked to rate the events on a five-point scale in different categories: overall satisfaction, swim, bike and run courses, race venue, host city experience and so on.

Estonia became part of the Ironman triathlon events in 2016. In 2018, the Ironman half-distance event in Otepää will take place on 16 June and, in addition, on 4 August, there will be an Ironman event in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. Over 1,700 participants from 47 countries have registered to take part in the Ironman triathlons in Estonia.
