Stigo, an Estonia-based folding scooter producer, has opened its first concept store in Tianjin, China.
According to the company, its aim is to bring its product closer to commuters by offering a personal purchase and test-ride experience in the very centre of an urban environment.
“We believe Stigo will revolutionise the way people travel. Stigo is not only the world’s fastest folding electric scooter, but you can also pull it along like hand luggage wherever you go, including indoors and outdoors, and charge it from a regular outlet. Our vision is to solve the first/last mile commuting problem by offering freedom of movement in a stylish and environmentally friendly manner,” Ardo Reinsalu, the CEO of Stigo, said in a statement.
The new store is designed like a coffee shop where one can experience all the characteristics of the company’s scooter. “You can also get an actual feeling for how it’s like to enjoy your coffee sitting in the coffee shop without any worries about parking or charging, because your folded scooter is standing right next to you plugged in to a regular outlet,” Reinsalu added.
The Stigo electric scooter’s maximum speed is 25 km/h (15.5 mph), it weighs 14.1 kg (31 lbs) and it folds in two seconds with a footprint of just 48 by 40 cm (19 by 16 inches). Its maximum distance is up to 35 kilometres (22 miles) on a single charge.
