The Estonian game developer, Creative Mobile, whose Drag Racing is among the most downloaded Android applications in the world, recently celebrated five years in business.
Although not as much talked-about as some other Estonian startups – such as TransferWise or GrabCAD, for example – the Creative Mobile has achieved international recognition for its popular racing games.
The company was founded in August 2010. The following year, its Drag Racing game was named one of the “10 best games of 2011” by the New York Times.
The game went on to become one of the most downloaded racing games on Google Play. It features on the list of Google Play free apps with over 100 million downloads, together with apps by giants like Samsung and Google itself. On Facebook, it has over three million fans.
In total, the company has published more than 20 games in five years and gained more than 250 million players worldwide so far.
“We’ve created a recognisable brand and started the publishing division. Most importantly, we’ve contributed to the gaming industry in Estonia,” said the company’s founder Vladimir Funtikov (28).
Talking about future, Funtikov said that his firm is working on collaborations with film studios and focusing on strengthening its position in the Asian markets.
