Jaak Treiman

Jaak Treiman has served as Estonia’s honorary consul in Los Angeles since his appointment in 1986. An active writer, his latest book, Võlulehviku tuules. Ühe Eesti pere lugu kolmel mandril (In the Tailwind of a Magic Fan: An Estonian Family’s Story Through Three Continents), was published in Estonia in January 2018, with the English edition, Carried by a Magic Fan, now also available. In the 1980s, he was involved with the Baltic American Freedom League and took part in various US events supporting Baltic independence.
