Estonian cyber security company among the winners of the NATO Defence Innovation Challenge

The Estonian cyber security company, CybExer Technologies, has been selected as one of the winners of the NATO Defence Innovation Challenge.

In its third annual iteration, the NATO agency’s contest highlights new technologies that strengthen the alliance’s cyber capabilities and serve as a reference point for defence companies around the world. Small and medium-sized businesses as well as academics from 29 NATO member states participated in this year’s contest that focused on digital innovation.

CybExer Technologies was awarded in recognition of its integrated scoring and awareness for cyber ranges solution that grants “unprecedented visualisation, documentation and monitoring capabilities”, the company said in a statement.

“Our solution is scalable and thus perfectly suited for large-scale exercises, irrespective of the number of participants, regardless of their location across the world. For the first time, we can create one shared environment consisting of different global exercises that all happen simultaneously,” Klaid Mägi, Head of Threat Intelligence at CybExer Technologies, said.

The Estonian company was the only one in all of Northern and Eastern Europe to win in any category; other winning companies were based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. In total, NATO recognised ten companies whose technologies are deemed to be a significant contribution to the alliance’s trainings, operations, and communications and network solutions.

Together with the other winners of the contest, CybExer has been invited to Berlin to present its solution at the NATO Cooperation Conference NITEC 18 in late May.
